Life satisfaction in adolescents: relationship with parental style, peer attachment and emotional intelligence

Introduction. Theory and research support the idea that subjective well-being (positive / negative affect life satisfaction) is a substantial construct in understanding psychological mental health. The relevance of satisfaction variables affecting has been studied. Life adolescents its association with sex, age, parental educational styles, peer attachment emotional intelligence was researched. Groups were compared according to degree relationship these variables. Method. sample composed 285 secondary school students (49.8% male), average age 15.09 years (12 19), self-report measures applied be analyzed: Satisfaction Scale-Child (SWLS-C), Parental Educational Style Adolescents, Inventory Parent Peer Attachment (IPPA) y Trait Meta-Mood-Scale-48 (TMMS-48). Results. Results showed significant high level among adolescents. A higher score boys girls confirmed, as younger older. Correlations statistically between all dimensions from analyzed, except Behavioral Control; Alienation Confidence Attachment; Emotional Intelligence Clarity Repair, well differences groups 12 19 analyzed. Discussion Conclusion. Promoting increasingly relevant, due role it may play achieving good adjustment, thus contributing promotion prevention
